1. Mas Tacos Por Favor

732 Mcferrin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
Phone: 615-543-6271

Please, pass the tacos! Visit Mas Tacos Por Favor if you want to go where the locals hang out.

It’s genuine, accessible, and unassuming. Mas Tacos is a little place that might be challenging to discover, but simply look for the crowds—lunch and supper are usually quite popular hours for Mas Tacos.

They are located immediately north of the Maxwell Area, close to the intersection of McFerrin Avenue and West Eastland Avenue. Only one block separates them from Nashville Beard and Barber.

They provide a selection of Mexican foods, such as tacos, soups, and more. Their tacos are often a little hotter than those at many other Mexican restaurants in the area.

In addition to the tacos, I also suggest the lime margaritas.

2. Saint Anejo

1120 McGavock St, Nashville, TN 37203
Phone: 615-736-5301

At Saint Anejo, they enjoy commemorating important events. A mezzanine that overlooks the whole restaurant’s main floor is available for rental for special events.

Large patios and an inside/outside bar can be found throughout the rest of the restaurant, which is also fairly fantastic.

It’s a lively, family-friendly location on McGavock Street between 11th and 12th Avenues, a few streets south of Broadway.

Saint Anejo has a tequila and mezcal menu with over 120 labels, making it the perfect place to go if you want tequila with your Mexican food. Tacos, fajitas, and ensaladas are just a few of the many Mexican dishes they provide (Mexican salads).

The Lone Star Burrito, which also comes with rice, black beans, salsa verde, and other ingredients, is my favorite.

3. Rosepepper Cantina

1907 Eastland Ave, Nashville, TN 37206

Rosepepper has been offering a diverse variety of foods with Mexican influences for more than 11 years.

They are near Five Points and Downtown Nashville, on the junction of Eastland Avenue and Chapel Avenue.

It’s a hip, laid-back setting with lively colors, a sizable terrace, and tons of wall art.

Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and Especialidades de la Casa are just a few of the many selections on their huge menu (house specials).

If you’re hungry, I recommend the Carne Asada; a 10-ounce ribeye steak served with flour tortillas and fresh guacamole.

4. Nada

202 21st Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203
Phone: 615-925-3362

One of my top suggestions for dining out with family or a group of friends is Nada. It’s a modern Mexican eatery with a lovely, welcoming ambiance and a large selection of food.

They are located on Music Row’s 21st Avenue South, directly across from Vanderbilt Law School.

They’re open every day of the week for breakfast and supper.

The menu has numerous meals that can be shared, such as the Grilled Fish “Contramer” and Peruvian Chicken, making it a delightful spot for parties.

They offer the majority of their meals on tiny plates; I normally order two different courses every meal and frequently share them with the entire table.

5. Chago’s Cantina

2015 Belmont Blvd, Nashville, TN 37212
Phone: 615-386-0106

Nothing compares to Chago’s. They’ve abandoned honesty in favor of loudly stating that they do things their own way.

The restaurant and bar is a trendy and welcoming local hangouts.

They are located on Belmont Boulevard, near Belmont University, where it intersects with Bernard Avenue. They’re a short walk from the Nashville Improv.

Their cuisine mixes Mexican and Latin American classics with a New Orleans touch.

Some of their meals will be recognizable, such as carnitas and quesadillas, while others, such as their Bang Bang Shrimp tacos, will be novel.

They also feature a diverse vegetarian menu, making them a wonderful choice for non-meat eaters.

6. Baja Burrito

722 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204
Phone: 615-383-2252

When visiting Berry Hill,  always stop at Baja Burrito. It’s an independent, locally-owned establishment that fits in wonderfully with the neighborhood’s vibrant, artsy vibe.

They’re located off Thompson Lane, just before the intersection with Bransford Avenue.

Their menu is limited to the essentials, but they’ve mastered the essentials. Customize a burrito, taco, or salad using a selection of meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.

There is also a Little Surfer Meal for children under the age of 12.

7. Taqueria del Sol

Multiple locations

Taqueria del Sol is a popular fast-casual restaurant that is ideal for lunch or supper when you are out and about in Nashville.

The first Nashville Taqueria del Sol, founded in Atlanta, opened its doors in 2013 on 12th Avenue South and Elmwood Avenue in the 12 South area.

In 2017, they opened a second TN location on Charlotte Avenue, near Richland Park.

Both restaurants boast a cool, energetic environment and a welcoming staff.

Tacos are a major attraction here, and they come in a variety of forms. What is my particular favorite? It’s a toss-up between the pork-filled Memphis, the Veggie Bean, and the Cheeseburger, which comes with ground beef, jalapenos, and a cheese dip.

8. Pancho & Lefty’s Cantina

Multiple locations

Pancho & Lefty’s Cantina, which calls itself the “oldest new restaurant in Nashville,” is a lively gathering place with inventive Mexican food and one of the greatest rooftop bars in the city.

They have two locations, one in Sylvan Park on Murphy Road and the other downtown, both of which can be located on Rep. John Lewis Way.

The items on their menu are all distinctive, and the tastes are strong and frequently spicy.

Additionally, it’s inexpensive, with three tacos going for $15.50. It goes without saying that I must highlight one of my favorites, their Big Ass Nachos, which come on a huge plate and are ideal for sharing with friends.

best Mexican food in Nashville

In a warm, lively environment, Bakersfield serves real Mexican street food and more than 100 different brands of tequila.

The restaurant is situated at the junction of 3rd Avenue South and Demonbreun Street in the heart of downtown Nashville, a few streets east of Riverfront Park.

The Nashville Symphony and a number of large downtown hotels are also conveniently close by.

Less than 10 different taco types are offered on the menu, along with a few taquito, torta, and salad options.

However, there are plenty of substantial dishes on the limited menu, like tacos with Baja Shrimp, Pollo Diablo, and short ribs.

The Bakersfield Sour, which is their signature beverage, is also quite popular with me.

10. Cerveza Jack’s
